TPA Horwath continues to grow: new office in Bulgaria (28.2.2008)

TPA Horwath, one of Austria’s leading tax consultancy and auditing practices, is opening its next office abroad in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. TPA Horwath’s network in Central and Eastern Europe now links 11 offices in 8 CEE countries. With a 15-person team and experienced management already in place, TPA Horwath in Sofia provides a wide range of services for local and foreign investors.

Specialised expertise in regulatory services
The dynamic growth of TPA Horwath Group continues: with its Sofia office, the practice is now also represented in what is now one of the most attractive markets for investment in the CEE – Bulgaria. The currently 15-person team headed by Maya Hristova provides Bulgarian and international investors with national and international tax advice, auditing services, and management and corporate finance consultancy. One of TPA Horwath Bulgaria’s areas of special expertise is in regulatory services: both public authorities and businesses – especially in the energy and telecoms sectors – benefit from the firm’s wealth of specialist knowledge and many years of experience in the field. Expertise in the taxation of real estate and IFRS consultancy are also among the Bulgarian partnership’s strengths.

Pioneer in the industry
Starting in 1993, TPA Horwath pioneered the profession’s expansion into Austria’s Central and Eastern European neighbours. Its first CEE office opened in Hungary (Budapest), followed by the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Poland, Croatia and Romania. And the strategy is for further expansion, according to Leopold Kühmayer, TPA Horwath Managing Partner: “We are also planning a permanent office in Ukraine, where we already have a cooperative venture, and more countries will follow.”
